Michael and Tanya founded the BRCA Research & Cure Alliance in 2022. With BRCA related cancers prevalent in their families, they felt compelled to create a not-forprofit organization that could strategically deploy resources to make the greatest impact to advance the prevention, treatment, and perhaps a CURE for BRCA related cancers.
Tanya Polsky has a strong background in banking and finance and received an MBA from Northwestern University. She graduated with top honors from Izmail State University of Humanities in Ukraine. Tanya is passionate about many social causes and spends her life as dedicated volunteer, especially with causes that relate to education, women’s rights, immigration, and cancer research. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Tanya led a program that manufactured 15,000 masks, which were distributed and donated to Chicagoland firefighters, police departments, homeless shelters, food pantries, immigrant shelters, hospitals, and clinics in underserved areas. Most recently, she has spearheaded the transition of a Ukrainian orphanage system to a foster care system and has championed peace training programs for families from the Russian/Ukrainian border.
Michael and Tanya are both originally from Ukraine, have six children, and live in Chicago.
